Oh… Whitney

I’m gonna keep this short and sweet for ya okay?

The show felt rough. It’s like they were trying to cram a set-up and then a punchline into every scene, and once they did, they were onto the next scene. This made the scenes feel very rushed, and kinda cheesy.

This whole rushed feeling didn’t help the characters at all, because I have no idea why they are friends, or why they end up at this wedding. No discussion whatsoever about how they know the bride or groom.

I will say however that their friend Roxanne had some pretty good one liners.

Then, there’s this very generic plot accompanied by a slightly funny scene where Whitney dresses up as a naughty nurse and has her husband fill out actual health forms.

Somehow they end up at the hospital, where Whitney’s mother played by Jane Kaczmarek, WHO DOESN’T EVEN GET APPLAUSE WHEN SHE ENTERS THE SCENE (!) shows up and… yeah, I really didn’t see the point of it.

I am going to watch another episode and hope it gets better, because Whitney is responsible for writing Two Broke Girls, which is funny, and I am pretty sure Whitney herself is funny, so, maybe she just needs to find her way. If she doesn’t by the next episode though, I’m out!
